Tips for Regular Maintenance of Your Miele Oven

Cleaning your Miele oven or Steam combination oven is easy, thanks to Pyrolytic and HydroClean self-cleaning function. With just a little light maintenance between self-cleaning cycles, you can keep your appliance spotless. Here’s how to care for each part, step by step.

How to clean specific parts of the oven

How to clean oven racks

If your Miele oven features PyroFit accessories, you can leave the side racks and rails in place during the pyrolytic cleaning cycle. They are designed to withstand high temperatures and clean themselves along with the cavity.

For PerfectClean trays and racks, simply remove and wash them by hand. The patented surface prevents food from sticking, ensuring effortless cleaning.  (Do not put in the dishwasher as this may damage the surface).

How to clean the oven door

  • Once the oven has cooled, simply wipe the glass door with a soft cloth. For everyday maintenance, a damp cloth is all you need to keep the door looking spotless.
  • For stubborn marks: Use a non-scratch pad and mild Miele detergent. Do not use abrasive powders or homemade remedies that could damage the coating.

How to deep clean the oven

For ovens with pyrolytic cleaning, use the highest setting when tackling heavy grease and baked-on spills. Always remove food debris first and ensure only PyroFit-safe accessories remain inside.

For Steam combination ovens with HydroClean, insert the HydroCleaner, select the cleaning level, and let your oven do the work. The foam reaches every corner of the cavity, even around seams and joints.

For ovens without pyrolytic or HydroClean, we recommend using the Miele OvenClean or Combination Steam Oven sprays and Microfibre cloths to ensure safe cleaning of oven interiors.

What not to do: common mistakes

  • Do not use bleach, ammonia or harsh chemical sprays that are not approved by Miele.
  • Avoid steel wool, metal scrapers or abrasive pads.
  • Never line the base of the oven with foil as this can disrupt heating elements and airflow.
  • Avoid homemade cleaning mixes like baking soda and vinegar, which can damage special coatings like PerfectClean.
