Use of alternative plant-based milk products
Miele coffee machines are generally suitable for use with commercially available, alternative plant-based milk products, or alternative milk products for short. All alternative milk products can therefore be used to make hot milk and milk froth. However, there can be significant differences in the quality of milk froth made with alternative milk products when compared with milk froth made with cow’s milk.
In particular, alternative milk products contain different ingredients to cow’s milk and therefore tend to settle. During preparation, this natural settling can cause a thicker consistency, preventing the alternative milk products from being drawn into the milk pipework. For this reason, you should always stir the alternative milk product thoroughly before starting preparation. Do not shake the alternative milk products, as shaking causes foam to form in the packaging and may impair the preparation process.
The use of alternative milk products has no other effect on the cleaning and care processes when compared with cow’s milk. Carry out the cleaning and care processes as described in the operating instructions.
