The water container has been filled with too little water.
If the water container is not filled with water until after the descaling tablets have been added, there will not be enough water due to the displaced volume of the descaling tablets.
The coffee machine detects a shortage of water.
Repeat the descaling process and follow the correct sequence:
Fill the water container with lukewarm water as far as the mark with the descaling symbol .
Add 2 descaling tablets to the water container.
Push the water container back into the machine.
Close the door.
The display message disappears. The descaling process is started.
