Understanding your Right to Repair

The Right to Repair is designed to make appliance repairs more accessible and transparent for consumers. Under applicable EU regulations, manufacturers are required to provide repair-related information and support repair options for selected product categories where repair is technically feasible.

At Miele, this includes providing clear information about available repair options, access to our spare parts catalogue, and indicative pricing for selected typical repairs on eligible appliances. The indicative prices shown on this page are intended to help you better understand potential repair costs before booking a repair service.

These requirements apply to specific appliance categories covered by EU repairability and Ecodesign regulations. At Miele, this currently includes the following domestic appliances:

- Washing machines and washer dryers

- Tumble dryers

- Dishwashers

- Refrigeration appliances

- Vacuum cleaners

Frequently asked questions

Are the indicative repair prices binding?

No. The prices shown are indicative examples for selected typical repairs and do not constitute a binding quote. The final cost depends on the appliance model, the confirmed fault, the required parts, local service conditions, and appliance accessibility.

Why is a diagnosis needed before the repair price can be confirmed?

A diagnosis is required to identify the fault and confirm whether the listed typical repair applies to your appliance. After the diagnosis, you will receive information about the expected repair costs before any chargeable repair is carried out.

What costs are not included in the indicative repair price?

Travel or call-out costs, diagnostic costs, regional surcharges, administrative fees, and any additional effort required to access or prepare the appliance for repair are not included. These costs may vary depending on the service location and the specific repair situation.

Which appliances are covered by the Right to Repair requirements?

These requirements apply to selected product categories covered by EU repairability and Ecodesign regulations. At Miele, this includes selected household appliances such as washing machines, washer-dryers, tumble dryers, dishwashers, refrigeration appliances, and vacuum cleaners.

Can I choose an independent repairer?

Yes. You are free to choose a repairer. EU regulations aim to improve access to spare parts, tools, and repair-related information for both consumers and independent repairers.

What happens if my appliance cannot be repaired?

If a repair is not technically feasible or not suitable for your appliance, the technician will inform you about the available options. Depending on the situation, this may include replacing the appliance.
