The appliance automatically prompts you to empty the waste container every 48 or 72 hours.
Emptying the container prevents coffee grounds being left in the appliance, which could cause mould to grow.
If the waste container is emptied while the appliance is switched off, the appliance may not register that this has happened.
This is a preventive measure, so no remedy is necessary.
