Noises when central spout moves downwards

Unusual noises can be heard when the central spout is moving downwards.

These noises are normal.

When the central spout advances to the starting position, the fan to vent the appliance is initiated in the background and the grinder operates empty for approx. 5–7 s without any beans. The subsequent shaking process securely moves the beans through the open bean chute and into the grinder.

This in turn causes noises to be emitted when the central spout is moving downwards.

You can check the central spout as follows:

  • Press the Back sensor control for 3 seconds. The central spout will move into the maintenance position.

  • Touch the OK button. The central spout leaves the maintenance position again.

If there is no unusual noise heard during this procedure, then the appliance is in order.
