Milk not being drawn in (CM 6xxx, CM 7xxx)

The milk is not being drawn in (sprays/splutters) (CM 6xxx, CM 7xxx).

The connection element of the Cappuccinatore (steam outlet nozzle) is soiled.

The stainless steel cover to the central spout is not dishwasher-safe.

Clean the stainless steel central spout cover by hand only using warm water and a little washing-up liquid.

All other parts are dishwasher-safe.

Slide the central spout down as far as it will go. Pull the stainless steel cover forwards and off.

Remove the dispensing unit to the front.

Twist the upper part with the holder for the milk pipework. Pull off the upper part (1).

Then pull the Y-piece off (2).

Remove the dispensing spouts (3).

Clean all parts thoroughly.

Clean the surfaces of the central spout with a damp sponge cloth.

If the milk pipework is blocked, clean it under running water with the cleaning brush supplied:

  • Insert the brush into the milk pipework.

  • Move it back and forth until all milk residue has been removed.

The milk system has not been sufficiently cleaned.

The milk pipework is clogged with dried milk deposits.

Clean the milk system at least once a week.

Make sure you follow the operating instructions.

Also clean the milk system parts in the dishwasher from time to time.

Or soak all parts, especially the silicone plug, overnight in warm water and a little washing-up liquid once a week.

Rinse all parts under running water.

Make sure there are no milk residues left on the individual parts before refitting them all.

The silicone plug is damaged or the balls are missing.

The silicone plug contains 2 white balls which are essential to the functioning of the milk system.

Pointed objects such as needles or cleaning brushes may damage the silicone plug and the balls inside. The silicone plug may stop working. Do not use pointed objects such as needles or cleaning brushes to clean the silicone plug. Be sure to remove the silicone plug before cleaning the rinse valve body with a cleaning brush or similar utensil. Do not move or remove the white balls in the silicone plug.

For cleaning results that are effective yet kind to materials, we recommend using the Miele cleaning agent for milk pipework. The cleaning agent removes all traces of milk protein and fat, and can be dispensed easily and safely using the pre-portioned sticks. Excellent care for many years of reliable service.
