What Causes Leaking Washing Machines?
The following issues are often the cause for a leaking appliance:
Installing Your Drainage Hose Incorrectly
With washing machines, the drainage hose being incorrectly fitted to the waste water pipe is the most common cause of flooding. Ensure a tight fit to the connector and run a short test wash to ensure no waste water escapes. Only use the hose supplied with your Miele appliance for the best results.
Installing Your Fresh Water Feed Incorrectly
Hooking up the inlet hose to your water source is another opportunity for leakage. Ensure a tight fit and that the thread of the screw-in element is sitting correctly. Run a test wash and check for any moisture or dripping before fitting your machine in place.
Damage To Your Appliance
Although Miele laundry appliance are tested to last the equivalent of 20 years’ use***, water leakage can happen if your appliance becomes damaged. The door and door seal are one area where damage can cause water to leak. If you find damage, then book a Miele appliance service or contact our customer teams to hear more about repairs or purchasing a replacement for your damaged items.
