Hygiene is an important issue for a dishwasher. Most of the Miele dishwashers come with a cutlery tray at the top of the dishwasher cavity, which allows each piece of cutlery to be placed separately into the dishwasher allowing optimum cleaning and drying. The new 3-D cutlery tray on some dishwasher models allows larger items to be effectively cleaned. The dishwasher cutlery trays also have their own spray arm ensuring the best results every time.

Miele dishwashers are designed and tested to last for 20 years, with rigorous tests being carried out on all dishwasher models. These tests include: running a 75°C dishwasher programme for 7,500 cycles – this equates to one load a day for more than 20 years, putting the dishwasher door through 100,000 opening and closing cycles - the equivalent of 13 cycles a day for more than 20 years and pulling baskets out and pushing them back into the dishwasher 100,000 times fully loaded – which equates to one wash a day for more than 273 years!

Combining the automatic load recognition sensor within the dishwasher with the sensor wash programme, differentiating between particles and bubbles, ensures that only the required amount of water is used, and the water temperature and cycle duration will be automatically adjusted. This programme can used as little as 7 litres of water, making using the dishwasher more economical than washing up by hand, which is shown by the energy rating of all Miele dishwashers being an A rating.
