EDI

Information about electronic data interchange (EDI).

EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is the electronic exchange of structured messages between business partners. The message is transferred directly from computer to computer so that the documents do not have to be manually entered into the recipient's ERP system.

As an alternative to conventional data transmission (such as fax or phone), EDI is mainly used for similar and regularly-occurring communication with business partners (proposals, orders, invoices etc.)

The benefits of EDI integration are:

  • Cost-efficient and time-optimised data transmission
  • Reduction in telephone and/or fax messages
  • No data entry and thus no entry errors since the processing of the data received is done automatically (without manual intervention)
  • Cross-platform transfer between business partners

As an important part of communication, EDI thus improves the business processes of all companies involved and is therefore becoming increasingly important at Miele.

An EDI connection is particularly useful for companies with large order volumes. If you belong to this group of customers and are interested in setting up an EDI connection, you can find detailed information about this topic as well as a registration form, with which you can submit your data on the following pages.
