Miele triumphs for second time at Which? Awards

Premium domestic appliance brand, Miele has triumphed at the Which? Awards 2008 by winning the 'Best Domestic Appliance Brand' category for the second year running. The win comes after scoring more Best Buys than any other brand across ten domestic appliance groups.

“Only the very best companies out of the hundreds whose products and services are tested by Which? make the grade and the winners are determined by Which? experts to be the very best of the best,” said Which?

Miele's score was unmatched, with a total of 22 Best Buys from ten of the categories its products were tested in. The brand was Best on Test in seven categories including dishwashers, freezers, fridge-freezers, washing machines, washer-dryers, tumble dryers, and vacuum cleaners.

Miele was one of only two companies to retain the award they won at the inaugural awards in 2007.

In a recommendation survey of Which? members, Miele had a 'clean sweep' of top scores across every category it appeared in and a reliability survey found that Miele washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers and cylinder vacuum cleaners achieved the highest reliability scores - with vacuum cleaners scoring an impressive 97 percent.

The award celebrates the quality and innovation which is at the heart of every product Miele develops and our products are built to give the best results and last the test of time. It's a huge honour to be recognised again for something we pride ourselves on," stated Simon Grantham, Miele Chief Executive.

The prestigious award ceremony was held at the British Museum and was hosted by TV newsreader Dermot Murnaghan. Guest appearances from Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, racing legend Sir Stirling Moss OBE and celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal OBE added to the excitement and atmosphere on the day.

Ultimate care for your clothes

This exclusive 'Care Collection' has been specially formulated to work in harmony with Miele's washing machine technology, to keep the most delicate of clothes silky and the woolliest of jumpers soft.

There are eight products in the Collection - four are aimed at everyday laundry and four are specialist products to help care and protect specific fabrics.

Ultra White Powder - This powerful concentrated multi-purpose formula has been designed for optimum stain removal at 40°C or less, ensuring that the most stubborn of stains are removed effortlessly. This powder contains no phosphates, which is good for the environment and one box will last for up to 40 wash cycles.

Ultra Colour Liquid - A concentrated liquid detergent which has been developed especially for coloured garments. Special additives have been included to take gentle care of the fabrics and keep the colour locked inside, keeping clothes looking and feeling their best. This formula prevents the transfer of dye and protects the brilliance of the colours. It also ensures that when used at a low temperature stain removal is still effective.

Fabric Conditioner - This fantastic conditioning liquid has a fresh natural fragrance. Laundry is left with a soft and gentle feel to it. Preservatives in the conditioner protect the brilliance of colour, while an anti-static system which prevents clothes clinging when they are tumble dried.

Reproofing Agent - A specially formulated finishing agent which can be used with the Reproofing programmes, available on Miele's top of the range washing machines and tumble dryers. It provides a water and stain resistant finish, whilst still allowing the fabric to breath freely. It is ideal for modern textiles, such as micro-fibres as well as for light impermeable cotton and specialist garments. Reproofing will give protection against wind and water and will also give a dirt-repellent finish.

Other products in the range include a liquid detergent for delicates and special detergents for sportswear, outerwear and down-filled bedding.

The laundry detergents in Miele's Care Collection are all biodegradable and concentrated to ensure only the minimum amount is required to successfully remove stains at 40°C or less. All of the products have a fresh natural fragrance and when used with the fabric conditioner leaves clothes soft, gentle and most importantly, brilliantly clean.

Miele S7 is winner with Which?

Miele S7 is winner with Which?

Miele's first foray into the upright vacuum cleaner market has resulted in a Which? 'Best Buy' after just four months on the market. The Miele S7210 was rated 'a real winner' in a recent Which? Magazine report.

The report commended the S7210 for its swivel neck which makes the cleaner very manoeuvrable and has the ability to lie flat to the floor to vacuum under low furniture. The durability and longevity of Miele products is legendary, but the Which? test also made reference to the performance of this vacuum cleaner:

"Dust pick-up from carpet, laminate and floor boards is outstanding. The S7210 is the entry-level model, and is supplied with the basic Super AirClean filter, but we found filtration to be excellent - good news for allergy sufferers."

Miele is Germany's 'Best Product Brand'

The highly coveted 'Best Brands' have been awarded for 2009 and Miele are delighted to have been awarded first place in the 'Best Product Brand' category. The 'Best Brand' awards are based on a comprehensive market survey performed by GfK Market Research. This poll is designed to gauge brand strength as well as the attractiveness of the brand and to assess the most successful brands with respect to their ability to meet future challenges.

In order to determine the 'Best Product Brand', GfK assessed the share of market of just under 200 of the best-known companies from 30 sectors covering fast-moving consumer goods and consumer durables. This involved collating information on success indicators such as market share, price premium and customer loyalty.

Telephone interviews were also held with consumers who were questioned on the attractiveness of brands which had previously been identified as the most successful. The aspects assessed were brand confidence, brand identification, the willingness to pay a premium for a branded product and quality. The best product brand was selected by bringing together a brand's success in terms of generating revenue with softer assets as reflected in a brand's appeal to consumers.
